It Was Over Before It Began

Hard labor began around 1:30. We walked a few laps around the unit, then sat for a bit, then called for the epidural. After a couple hours of rest, Lindsey woke up at around 4:30. The nurse checked her and realized it was TIME. We made some quick phone calls to have people head to the hospital as they prepped her, but only moments later, Caden Adair was brought into this world. His spirit had already left his body, taking everyone by surprise. I guess he couldn't wait to go meet Jesus.

Thank you for your prayers.

Please continue, but for a different reason now...

  9. My heart is so heavy for you this morning. It's hard to understand why things didn't go how we all prayed for, but this I do know - that He is still in control and loves you and your sweet family more than any of us can imagine. You remain on my heart and in my prayers this morning and throughout this journey.

  10. Someone once told me "grieving is the price we pay for loving." Caden has been wrapped in love and may all of the Carslon Crew feel the arms of love wrapped around you at this time and forever.

  26. I'm so sorry that you weren't able to have those few special moments with Caden before he went to see Jesus. The joy, though, is that he is with Jesus and isn't in pain. You are in my prayers. I grieve with you.

  27. Lindsey,
Hold tight to the image of your mom holding Caden in her arms at this very moment and find comfort in knowing that he is surrounded by many other "little Angels" that have gone before him who will be welcoming him with open arms.
I promise you will get through this but allow yourself time to grieve. You have earned it!

  35. Dear Brandon & Lindsey,

I am a friend of Selena's and have been reading your blog, praying for you. My heart aches for you, but my heart rejoices for Caden who is now with Jesus in heaven. I just finished reading the book, "90 Minutes in Heaven" a few weeks ago. This pastor's description of heaven was so Biblical and so glorious...he gets frustrated even trying to put it into words because it is beyond words. It gave me comfort as I realized so many people dear to me--my parents, my nephew, my aunts and uncles--they are all THERE!! Now Caden is there, too! We can all look forward to the day when we, too, join Jesus and all the saints in heaven. I continue to pray for you during this hard time. Your faith is truly an inspiration to me. God be with you.

  36. I left a message earlier but I guess it did not save. I am praying for you as your heart is torn. I am sure Caden was a beautiful little boy. Your mom must be smiling today getting to hold her grandson. I know that things didn't happen the way you wanted, but God's way is better than our way. May he bring you comfort today.
